FLOOR  CLOCKS

1371

This is an unmarked Grandfather, the works look like a Gilbert Clock Company. The age of the clock is around 1900. It is spring driven with time and strike on a gong. The accents on the clock are all brass. The case is made of oak, but it has been painted long ago with a flat black paint. I don't know if its factory paint or not but the brass pieces really show up nicely on the flat black where as if it were an oak finish the brass would not show up as nice.
