~8 DAY MANTLE~

1794

This crystal regulator was made in France circa 1890's. It has an 8 day time and hour and half hour strike on a gong.

The face is made of porcelain and is surrounded with a brass bezel with cloisonné on it.

Side view of the clock shows the glass on all sides is beveled and the brass pieces of the case are covered with cloisonné.

The pendulum also is covered in cloisonné and the silver tubes are filled with actual mercury. Filling the tubes with mercury elevates this clock to a "temperature compensating" pendulum for a more accurate clock for time.

Cost is: $925.00
