This is a Naval ships clock made by the Chelsea clock company. It has a high grade time only platform escapement. The clock has an 8 inch dial, the bezel and the case are made of bakelite. I like bakelite because it does not corrode and stays like new year after year but, it can crack or chip.
Close up of clock dial, if you look close you can see etched on the face the clocks serial number, done probably by a crew member on the ship.
